If you like to take an alcoholic beverage every so often, keep your money at home if you plan to do your consuming in a brick and mortar betting house. I’m not joking. Empty your handbag, your wallet, and leave all money, bank cards and cheques at home. Take whatever money you are planning to use on drinks, tips and whatever loose coins you plan on loosing and keep the remainder behind.
Cynical? Not really. Realistic more like. You may well discover a win after a boozy evening out with your buddies and be fortunate enough to hit a 25 minute roll at a hot craps table. Hang on to that account because it is as short-lived as it gets if you continually drink and gamble. The two simply do not mix.
Keeping your money at home is a little drastic, however precautionary measures for drastic behavior is relative and necessary. If you compete to succeed, then do not consume alcohol and play. If you can manage to toss away your cash without a second thought, then consume all the no cost booze your stomach can hold, but do not take debit cards and chequebooks to toss into the mix of going after losses after your inebriated brain throws away everything!
